Privacy Policy
Effective November 3, 2026
Lani AI LLC (“Lani,” “we,” “us”) builds AI receptionist and customer communication software for service businesses. This policy explains what information we collect when you use talktolani.com or our products, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Mobile information and SMS consent
No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Phone numbers are shared only with the service providers that deliver the messages you asked for, and only for that purpose. Those providers are listed under Service Providers below.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you fill out a form on our site, request a pilot, book a call, or ask us to call or text you, we collect the information in that form. Depending on the form, that includes your first and last name, business name, website, email address, and mobile phone number, along with whether you checked the box consenting to receive text messages.
Information we collect automatically
We collect standard web analytics: pages viewed, referring page, browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and how you move through the site. We store a one way hash of your IP address rather than the address itself where we only need to tell visitors apart.
If we email you, we record whether the message was opened and whether links in it were clicked, using a tracking pixel and links that route through our own domain before forwarding you on. This is how we know whether our outreach is worth continuing. You can stop it by unsubscribing, which we honor on every message.
Voice demos on this site
Some pages let you talk to Lani through your browser. When you start one of those conversations, it's recorded and transcribed so we can hear how the demo went and improve it. We keep the transcript. The recording stays with ElevenLabs, our voice provider, where we can play it back. If you give your name or contact details during the conversation, we may use them to follow up with you. If you'd rather not be recorded, don't start a demo call.
Information from your use of our products
If you are a Lani customer, our software processes the calls, texts, and emails your business exchanges with your own customers, including transcripts and recordings where you have enabled them. That content belongs to you. We process it to provide the service, and we describe our obligations around it in our Terms of Service.
Google Calendar (Google user data)
If you connect a Google Calendar in the Lani dashboard, we ask Google for three calendar permissions and nothing else. We use free/busy information so your AI receptionist only offers callers times when you are actually free. We use event access to create the one event a caller books, with a Google Meet link and an invite to that caller, and to update events our receptionist created. We use read-only calendar access to show your upcoming meetings on the matching contact in your dashboard and to let you choose which calendar takes bookings. We never read your email or your Google Drive.
We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, do not use it to train AI models, and do not let people read it except where you ask us to for support, where it is needed for security, or where the law requires it. Lani’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Calendar access tokens are stored encrypted. You can disconnect at any time from the Integrations page in your dashboard, which revokes our access, or from your Google Account settings, and you can ask us to delete any calendar data we hold by writing to hello@talktolani.com.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve our products.
- Respond to you, including by phone, text message, and email when you have asked us to or consented to it.
- Send service messages about your account, your pilot, or a call you booked.
- Measure whether our marketing works, in aggregate.
- Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and meet our legal and carrier obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Text messages
We send text messages only to people who have asked for them: you checked a consent box on one of our forms, you asked us to call or text you, or you texted us first.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, and HELP for help. Opting out of text messages does not remove you from email, and opting out of email does not remove you from text messages, so tell us if you want both stopped and we will handle it.
Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of purchase.
Service providers
We rely on a small set of vendors to run the product. They process information only on our instructions and only to perform their function:
- Twilio for telephony and text message delivery.
- ElevenLabs for conversational voice.
- Postmark for transactional and outbound email.
- Supabase for application database and file storage.
- Stripe for payment processing. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Cal.com for scheduling.
- Google for calendar availability and bookings, only when you connect a Google Calendar.
- PostHog and Meta for website analytics and advertising measurement. These do not receive your mobile number.
Retention
We keep information for as long as we need it to provide the service and to meet our legal obligations. Records of consent and of opt out requests are kept for as long as carrier and regulatory rules require us to prove them, which is generally at least four years, even after you opt out. If you ask us to delete your data we will, apart from those records and anything we are required to retain.
Your choices
You can opt out of text messages by replying STOP, opt out of email using the unsubscribe link in any message, and ask us for a copy of your data or its deletion by writing to hello@talktolani.com. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict our use of it. Write to us and we will honor them.
Security
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, restrict internal access to the people who need it, and store credentials in a managed secrets vault. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something happens that affects your information.
Children
Our products are built for businesses and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above, and for material changes we will tell you directly.
